Earth protectors

The project intends to create a platform where science and art comes together to deliver important information about the state of crisis we live in.
Through music and interdisciplinary collaborations, the project aims to create of collection of sound-artworks that move and inspire the public opinion about action and solutions available to counter the effects of global warming.

The first artwork is a collaboration between pianist Francesca Khalifa and composer Brian Field. "From Barren to Bloom" was commissioned to Field by Khalifa in June 2024 for her awarded residency at permaculture farm and animal sanctuary Slimane in Marrakech (Morocco) in March 2025 (14-31). The piece is a celebration of the achievements of the farm against desertification through the use of permaculture techniques and philosophy. Khalfa will create an audio/video track with original text and images during her stay at Slimane, where she will also premiere the artwork in several performances.
